Brush cleaning: 2 ways

Evening guys, Izzy here and today we'll be talking about brush cleaning. You are supposed to clean your brushes after every use, but let's face it, no one has time for that. I like to clean my brushes every week, as this keeps them free from germs. There are 2 main ways of washing your makeup brushes, which are using a quick cleaner, and using a deep cleaner. 

It is important to wash your makeup brushes as it stops bacteria being spread to your face, which can cause spots and blackheads. Even though it's probably the most boring part of beauty, it's one of the most important. 

After using a makeup brush a few times, I'd recommend using the MAC Brush Cleaner, which you apply to a tissue and clean the makeup brush with. This quickly cleans the brush, but doesn't make it extremely wet, meaning you can use them after around 20 minutes. This is available from MAC stores for £11. 

It's good to give your brushes a thorough wash every few weeks, and for this I use the Dr Bronners Magic Soap. This comes in a liquid form, and is like a shampoo for your makeup brushes. Unlike the MAC brush cleaner, this leaves your makeup brushes wet for several hours before they dry, but once they are dry, they look brand new. This is available for £3.99 from TKMaxx and other stores.

Charles Worthington Intensive Rescue Balm

Evening guys! Izzy here and today I'll be talking about one of my favourite hair masks, the Charles Worthington Intensive Rescue balm, which is part of the Moisture Seal range. This is a hard balm which melts in the hands.

I use this balm once every two weeks, in rotation with other hair masks. It gives intense moisture and nourishes the hair. You are supposed to apply the balm 20 minutes before washing your hair, but I like to apply it a few hours before and leave it on. 

The hard balm melts when rubbed into the hands, and becomes a more oily texture. Then you apply the mask onto he hair and wait for as long as you want. Unlike many popular hair masks, this mask has a pleasant scent which smells like a spa. Charles Worthington describes the product as: 'It's blend of 7 exotic oils and butters is packed with lipids and proteins, similar to those naturally found in healthy hair'. 

The actual packaging of the product is plastic and an oval shape. You get 100ml of product for £10.99, but it is often on offer at Boots.

My Skin Care Routine <3

Hi guys, Will here, and I'm going to talk about the most important part of my day, for my face. Skin care is vital for flawless application of make-up and clear healthy skin. For me I find a cleanser/toner combo works best and a oily skin moisturiser helps everything glide on. My skin type is completely combination as I have dry patches on my cheeks but I tend to get oilier around my nose and eyebrow area. So here is my  morning routine:

1. I get out of the shower with all my pores open and clean, the steam causes this effect.
2. Then I like to apply my cleanser to a cotton pad and I sweep it all over my face to make sure everything got covered. As it is a two in one a toner isn't necessary.
3. After this I like to apply my moisturiser fairly lightly over my face, eyes and neck.

In the evening however I like to remove my make-up with a wipe then cleanse!

My Cleanser

The cleanser I use is the Clarins One-Step Facial Cleanser. It has orange extract (which smells divine) and is for all skin types. You get 200ml for £20 but I believe in paying for skin care so I don't mind the price as it leaves my skin feeling very clean, clear and radiant.

My Moisturiser

My moisturiser of choice is the No7 Beautiful Skin day cream for normal/oily skin. It has SPF 15 and 5* UVA so I like to use it thicker on sunny days. Also it is hypo-alergenic so is good for sensitive skin. It has a thick yet very smooth texture and smells of a normal cream. It is best applied wth dry fingers. You get 50ml in a sturdy and attractive glass jar for £12.50 at Boots.

Chanel Rouge Allure Gloss Review

Evening everyone! It's Izzy and today I'll be reviewing the Chanel Rouge Allure Gloss in the shade 15 'Sensible'. Chanel describes the line of Rouge Allure Glosses as 'A gloss for women who love lipstick. A lipstick for women who love gloss'. The line of lipglosses are designed to give a good colour pay off, but still be quick and easy to apply. There are a range of 9 glosses to choose from, which came out in October 2014.

The shade 'Sensible' is a pinky coral which looks great with a tan. This gloss would work great with any look, it gives a nice sheen for everyday looks, but provides a neutral lip for a more dramatic look. The formula is thick and smooth, but not sticky; the perfect lipgloss for windy days! It can be worn on its own, or over a lipstick to give a more vibrant colour. The formula has Vitamin E, matcha green tea butter and sappan wood for extra comfort and moisture.

I know you shouldn't judge a product by it's packaging, but can we talk about how stunning the Chanel packaging is. It has the iconic press button opening fixture, which makes the product feel so much more luxurious. It is a doe foot applicator which collects and applies the perfect amount of product. The tube is sleek and has the Chanel logo on top.

This lipgloss is £26, and can be bought at Chanel counters throughout the country. Will you be picking this up? 

Naked 2: Review and Swatches

Will here and I'm going to tell you about the cool edgy twin to the original Naked palette, full of delectable metallic tones and matte browns. For those with cooler skin tones and a craving for a day to night in simple steps this is the very palette for you. With a: matte black, a shimmer and matte highlight plus a wide array of lid and crease colours, this would be an ideal palette as a starter kit or even as a universal Christmas present for anyone who loves make-up. They are all relatively buttery and come with one of the Urban Decay dual ended eye brushes, I actually find this brush to be excellent. Now to get to the nitty gritty:

• Foxy- cream matte bisque -a gorgeous matte highlight I use daily for brow highlight
• Half Baked- gold/bronze shimmer -this is just my perfect 'chuck it on' colour to liven up a chore day look
• Bootycall- cork shimmer -a cool pink-ish tone with a stunning shimmer perfect for a natural inner-corner highlight
• Chopper- copper shimmer with silver micro glitters -I have this in other palettes and I like to use it to warm up matte taupe's
• Tease- cream pale brown matte - this is a lovely crease colour for any dinner/lunch date
• Snakebite- dark bronze shimmer - this is a rather boring colour that is brown with a gold shift but I do like it, it's just nothing ground breaking
• Suspect- pale golden beige shimmer - I would say this is appropriate for a lid colour for going clubbing, one of the better formulas
• YDK- cool bronze shimmer -my gosh, this is my favourite eye-shadow colour EVER!!!! It is so simple yet is just splendid
• Busted- deep brown shimmer -this is what gives the palette the ability to go to night as if you use this in the crease you get instant a smokey eye
• Blackout- blackest black matte -this is a palette essential as it is a matte black, perfect!
